Anchored in Sussex Retail

The natural offspring

The story behind...

Anchored in Sussex can be found in the food hall of 15:17 in South Street, Worthing (we hope to add Eastbourne and Waterlooville in the future).

Anchored in Sussex Retail is the natural offspring of the Anchored in Worthing micropub. Often people walk into the pub asking us if we sell, or have, Sussex wines or beers available. We do keep a small selection but it’s a very limited supply due to space and its primary function of being a pub.

With the growing demand for locally sourced products we decided to branch out and open our “pop up shop” in the heart of Worthing. When you visit us you will find a large range of award-winning bottled and canned beer, cider, gin, wine, fruit juice and tonics, all made right here in Sussex. We’ve made it all available in one place for you to peruse, choose and purchase. And our prices compare favourably with online ordering and of course are available immediately, no minimum order values or waiting around for the courier company to deliver.

As well as holding a substantial range of products at the shop, we can always order larger quantities for you when required and normally get them within one working day of your order being placed. Want a mix of wine, beer, gin and cider from the Sussex region? Get the perfect beverage for each of your guests in one shop. And if you don’t know what you are looking for, our brilliant team are on hand to advise.

Nigel Watson

Nigel Watson

founder

Nigel Watson, the founder of Anchored in Sussex, has had a varied career in the Music Industry, as a development worker in Uganda and as a professional yachtsman in Spain and the Caribbean.

10 years ago Nigel returned to the UK full time and took on the management of a pub in Surrey before striking out on his own with the later award-winning Micropub, Anchored in Worthing – the first micropub in Sussex.

Nigel sees Anchored in Sussex and the selling of local produce as the natural progression to the micropub concept.
